Why We Rebranded
When we first launched our tool a few months ago as BookTok.ai, we never imagined how much it would resonate with authors or how valuable it could become. Initially, our focus was on TikTok (hence the name BookTok) and using generative AI to suggest and optimize engaging hooks and images (hence the domain .ai). However, as we listened to the needs of our growing community, we realized there was potential to go beyond that.
Now, we’re excited to share that AuthorScale is evolving into a comprehensive slideshow management platform.
First, we’re expanding support to more platforms. In the near future, you’ll be able to connect your Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube accounts, allowing you to seamlessly push posts directly from our Slideshow Suite to multiple platforms. The name AuthorScale reflects this evolution more accurately, as it doesn’t suggest an affinity to any specific platform.
Second, we’ve listened to authors who prefer crafting their own hooks and using their own visuals, so we’ve developed features to accommodate these creative needs as well. Our name change reflects this shift too: we’re about empowering authors with versatile tools for their marketing strategies, whether they leverage AI or not. After all, AI features are becoming a standard in most tools these days, but our focus remains on providing the flexibility and support authors truly need.
What’s New with AuthorScale and What to Look Forward To
1. Manual Slide Builder
With our Manual Slide Builder, authors can quickly create personalized slideshows using their own hooks and background images, making it easy to promote their books in minutes. We’re also developing features that will allow authors to import hooks from spreadsheets, providing a streamlined way to organize and manage them at a glance. Additionally, we’ll integrate a free stock image library so authors can easily find matching visuals without needing to leave the platform.
2. Educational Content
We’re committed to helping authors grow their marketing skills. Soon, we’ll launch a series of educational resources designed for those just starting out with slideshows. These will cover the strategy’s ins and outs, featuring interviews with high-profile authors. There’s nothing more valuable than hearing directly from successful authors about their journeys and best practices.
3. Social Media Integration
TikTok Draft Scheduling: Currently, when you connect your TikTok profiles to AuthorScale and send a slideshow to one of your profiles via the tool, it appears as a draft in your system notifications. For authors managing multiple accounts and pushing dozens of posts to the connected accounts in one day for posting on different days, it can be challenging to keep an overview. That’s why we’re soon introducing the option to schedule when slideshows are pushed to your accounts at a specified time and date, making it easier to manage multiple accounts. For example, you can schedule a post to be sent to your system notifications tomorrow at 4 PM, and our system will ensure the post is in your notifications at the specified time, ready for you to add a sound and publish.
TikTok Auto-Publish & Scheduling: In the coming weeks, we’ll introduce auto-publishing capabilities for TikTok. You’ll be able to schedule a slideshow to post directly at a set time across your accounts, ensuring the post goes live without entering drafts.
Other Social Media Platforms: We’re expanding beyond TikTok by integrating platforms with high viral potential, such as Facebook/Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts. Soon, you’ll be able to push and schedule your content to these platforms directly from AuthorScale, saving you even more time and maximizing reach.
4. Video & Audio Content
We’re developing tools to help you create video content within AuthorScale. You’ll be able to upload custom videos and overlay them with hooks, or you can use our platform to auto-stitch background images, with hooks appearing sequentially. We’re also working on incorporating human-like voices for narrating slideshows, enhancing the storytelling experience.
5. Analytics
We’re building an analytics dashboard so you can view key engagement metrics for your slideshows directly within AuthorScale. This will allow you to identify successful slideshows, duplicate or refine them, and maintain momentum on your best-performing content.
6. Market Intelligence
We're constantly enriching our database with successful social media posts from a diverse range of authors and related content creators, aiming to build the industry's most comprehensive dataset of promotional author content. This allows us to spot new trends as soon as they emerge. We’re developing a market intelligence dashboard to share these insights with our users. Potential features include a weekly or even daily digest of the top 10 posts from a specified timeframe, enabling you to analyze why they went viral—whether it’s a new trend, a compelling opening line, or an innovative format.
